Blackies struggling. Material is heavier than expected. Notes from Rick @ Blackies below. We are dealing with about double the quoted amount of stock on these. This is causing these to take almost double the amount of time to grind. They are taking around 3.5-4 hours each to grind into tolerance, and they have tried different wheel combos and method's. Blackies tried "all the tricks they know" to ensure they are running them as fast as possible. Dealing with not only the stock issue, but also the runout to start that takes so much time to get out In addition there seems to be a lot of stress induced into the part during the machining because the material relieves itself quite a bit causing the runout to get worse at first before it gets better. They have lost 1 part for this reason. .

Blackies will be starting these parts Monday, expect 1-2 day run time to get 10 parts. Will offer partial if it makes sense..

Per QR Our plan is to have 20 more back on the lathe late next week, we will try for a delivery late in the week of 3/10. We will stay on them for the balance and should have the order wrapped before 3/26. .
