Blackies has concerns about reworking these parts. They can only check 2 point, which shows 2.375 dia in tol, but when we check on the CMM it's showing undersized by .0001-.0006. Since they have no way to mirror our inspection method, they can't check if they are removing enough or too much material..

Picked up 3 parts from Blackies for review. Parts with Shane..

Blackies struggling a bit on this one. Part was a bit out of round so they were unable to clamp with air jaws as hoped. They believe the standard jaws may have caused the part to become more out of round. Should still be in tolerance, but now there are concerns that the runout may not be. .001" runout allowed. Blackies is measuring at .0011-.0012..

Update from Blackies: They had to make tooling so the parts will repeat in depth to the face as far as the rad bend is concerned. Tooling was tested yesterday, but needs to be modified to make a little more clearance. Hoping to have finished parts coming off the machine today..

Blackies' status: We are completely done with the back bore and are still working on the front bore now. Because of the differences in lengths it is becoming very difficult to run them on the cnc to make a nice blend so I'm moving this job over to a manual I/D grinding machine in hopes to speed these up. I have a crew coming in this weekend to work on several jobs. Yours are a few of them. I'm hoping we are on track for mid week. .
