Email below from Metal Tech about the paint remover. (MIL-R-81294 HAS BEEN INACTIVATED FOR NEW DESIGN LONG TIME AGO. IT IS ALSO ONLY FOR POLYERUTHANS AND EPOXYS - THIS PART HAS ON ACRYLIC LAQUER PAINT.) The vendor went ahead and sent an email to Sherwin williams about their aircraft paint strippers and unfortunately, they no longer carry that type of product and have no replacement. These types of paint strippers are seriously hazardous and further expensive to dispose of, whether fresh or used. Vendors did mention if we are open to blasting, depending on the coating and with a test piece, they could try plastic media first to see how well it removes. .

We are having issue filling the part mark. Area's of the machined letters will not fill with the crayon and wiping the part mark is taking off the paint. We do have a touch up kit but some of areas getting wiped are to small for touch up. Maybe another way of part marking is a better course..

Still held for wet glue condition. Derek reached out to vendor to see if they have exact time/temp for cure in a technique sheet or equivalent. They originally certed to EC-2216 which requires 12 hours @ 80F, when the supplied glue is EC-2214 which requires 1 hours @ 360F - leading to concern about wet glue condition .
